Do you know Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists or Exercise Physiologists who deliver falls prevention projects for older adults?

The Stay On Your Feet WA® team are inviting clinicians to the half day Otago Exercise Programme in Mount Claremont, Thursday 19 November.

Otago is an individually tailored, home based balance and strength falls prevention programme delivered to older adults by a trained instructor. The programme has shown to be effective in reducing the number of falls and number of injuries resulting from falls.

This train the trainer workshop provides the opportunity to:

  • Teach the strength and balance principles of the Otago Exercise Programme to older adults
  • Deliver more effective feedback and motivation techniques to older adults
  • Build your networks with other clinicians who can help you implement exercise and activity programs to older adults at risk of falls.

Only Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Exercise Physiologists are eligible for registration.

*Please be aware that the Otago Exercise Programme has been developed for delivery within the community setting and is not suitable for older adults in residential aged care facilities.
