The Injury Control Council WA has had a long association with Community West and wishes to congratulate them on their Act to Connect Program which has been announced as the winner of the 2016 Community Services Excellence Award for Local Government and Community Services Collaboration on May 4 2016.
It is well documented that loneliness can have a far-reaching negative influence on people’s health, wellbeing and quality of life and can impact the very fabric of resilient communities, resulting in a fragmented, disengaged and isolated society where vulnerable people feel cast aside and excluded.
Act to Connect workshops enable staff and volunteers to assist people to connect or re-connect with places, events and pursuits which give their lives meaning and purpose.
