Kidsafe WA’s new classroom injury prevention resource

In 2016-17, 49 children were seen in the Princess Margaret Hospital Emergency Department per day due to an injury1.

Many people have a role to play in preventing injuries to children. With the 2018 school year approaching Kidsafe WA have recently released the Safety in Schools Resource Kit for classroom or specialist health teachers.

This school based injury prevention teaching resource can be utilised for children in pre-primary, year one and/or year two. The kit includes six detailed lesson plans, which aim to increase the knowledge, skills and attitudes of students towards preventing unintentional injuries on the road, at home and at play.

If you are interested in finding out more information about the Resource Kit please contact Anita Tsvetkov at Kidsafe WA at
