The Health Promotion Journal of Australia recently published a special edition on Injury Prevention and Health Promotion. This is the second time that the Journal has published a special issue on injury prevention, following the first in 1991.
The special edition promotes the importance of injury in Australia and contains articles on a range of injury areas including; alcohol and injury, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander injury prevention, child injury prevention, drowning prevention, falls, farm safety, first aid, and injury surveillance. Some articles within the edition relate to projects in Western Australian, including:
- Alcohol and injury risk at a Western Australian school Leavers Festival (Royal Life Saving Society of Australia)
- A balanced approach to falls prevention: Application in the real world (Injury Matters)
- Linked surveillance systems and spatial analysis to target injury priorities in WA (WA Department of Health and Curtin University).
