Royal Perth Hospital have released five new reports, providing insight into the prevalence of preventable injury-related hospitalisations in Western Australia. The recently released reports cover injuries relating to;
The reports highlight the number of injury-related admissions to Royal Perth Hospital in the ten-year period between 2010 and 2019 by age, gender and location. During this period, there were;
1,450 admissions for dog bite-related injuries.
12,211 admissions due to alcohol and/or other drugs.
11,091 admissions due to road trauma.
679 admissions due to horse-related injuries.
4,182 admissions due to workplace injuries.
