On the 18th May 2021, Injury Matters joined with WALGA and the Local Government Community Safety Network to present a webinar on the role that Local Governments have in the primary prevention of family and domestic violence.
The wonderful presenters reminded us that stopping family and domestic violence starts with leadership. Additionally, they provided useful and practical information on how Local Governments can get involved with family and help prevent domestic violence.
Thanks to Kate Jefferies, Sector Development Manager at Stopping Family Violence, Dr Alison Evans, Director, Research, Advocacy and Sector Development at Centre for Woman’s Safety and Wellbeing, Tanya Elson, Director of Children and Families at the Department of Communities, and Marissa MacDonald from WALGA for hosting the event. Thanks to Kellie Wilson, Team Leader Community Sector Support at the City of Mandurah for sharing cases studies from Mandurah to inspire other Local Governments with what is possible when they engage with this issue within their community.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in partnering with Injury Matters on an upcoming training event.
