Reviewing alcohol advertising codes in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United Kingdom, this review provides evidence that alcohol advertising influences drinking behaviours, and that Australia’s voluntary regulation system is not effective. Further evidence regarding volume restrictions, content restrictions and infrastructure which supports the regulatory environment are highlighted.
